Avant formed a partnership with the Australian and New Zealand Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons (ANZSCTS) in 2013. We collaborate with the society to educate their members on areas of medico-legal related risk areas, such as employment and training disputes, ethical practice and clinical care standards.
With the support of Avant, ANZSCTS aims to achieve a number of objectives on behalf of the profession. These include; establishing and maintaining appropriate programs of continuing education, improving the quality of practice. Furthermore, promoting and representing the professional development and interests of surgeons, and encouraging basic and clinical research.
The relationship between Avant and ANZSCTS continues to be based on education and advocacy initiatives.
Avant and the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy and Surgery Society (AGES) signed a formal partnership in 2016, with the purpose of supporting improvements in quality and safety though reducing members’ controllable risk.
Since its inception in 1990, AGES has built on its mission to promote the safest and highest standards of clinical and minimally-invasive surgical care for women through its three tenants of education, surgical training and clinical research.
The key focus of the relationship is education which supports AGES members to understand the boundaries when undertaking new and innovative procedures and associated consent management.

They provide high-quality specialist education, training and continuing professional development and are committed to ensuring the highest possible standard of orthopaedic care.

We also collaborate to advocate and drive changes to improve the environment which orthopaedic surgeons practise in.
Avant has partnered with The Australian Association of Practice Management (AAPM) since 2013. We work together to promote the value of having a skilled practice manager in every practice.
AAPM is committed to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare practice management for better patient outcomes and actively advocate to provide advice and input into important issues and policies for the sector.
A key area of the partnership is The Avant AAPM Scholarship Program, which awards five practice managers scholarships to further their education and training at the University of New England Partnerships.
The partnership has also allowed the development of a Practice Managers Resource Centre, which helps AAPM members protect, improve and grow their practice.
Avant formed a partnership with the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) in 2010 to support USANZ to achieve its vision: working for the urologist community to ensure best access to the quality urological care its members can provide.
Founded in 1937, USANZ is the peak professional body for urological surgeons in Australia and New Zealand. USANZ administers the Surgical Education and Training program in urology through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and organises continuing professional development activities for its members.

Avant has partnered with onthewards to develop risk management content tailored for junior doctors.
onthewards is a free, open access medical education website addressing a gap in formal education for medical students and junior doctors. It is run by junior doctors and dedicated to delivering practical, high quality online resources.

Avant has been a proud supporter of Interplast since 2009.
Interplast exists to repair bodies and rebuild lives through sending teams of volunteer plastic and reconstructive surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and allied health professionals to provide life-changing surgery and medical training in 17 countries across the Asia Pacific region.
Avant’s support provides funding for the Interplast programs and we are rewarded by knowing that we are helping doctors, surgeons and anaesthetists practitioners find opportunities to give back through volunteering in areas of need.
Each year, Avant offers one medical student the chance to accompany an Interplast surgical team on an international trip. The student has the opportunity to observe the Interplast team of volunteers conduct their inspirational work that changes many people’s lives.
Avant entered into a partnership with the Breast Surgery Society of Australia and New Zealand (BSANZ) in early 2019. The focus is on working together to enhance the capabilities of Breast Surgeons. All joint activities will support quality improvement. Supporting Breast Surgeons is of prime importance to Avant in the years to come, within the partnership.
