In line with our commitment to support quality, safety and professionalism in the practice of medicine, we have formed a three-year partnership with the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Foundation.
Supported by the College of Intensive Care Medicine, through the partnership, we will work closely with the Intensive Care Foundation to provide solutions to support and protect intensive care specialists throughout their careers. As part of the partnership, the Intensive Care Foundation will award an Avant research grant for a project relating to quality and safety in the field of intensive care medicine at the World Congress of Intensive Care in October.
The Intensive Care Foundation’s Chief Executive, Ian Higgins said, “The Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Foundation is dedicated to improving the care of critically ill patients through funding vital research. Without the support of organisations such as the Avant Mutual, we would not be able to continue to support such research.”
Under the new partnership, we are proud to be a Gold sponsor of the 2019 College of Intensive Care Medicine Annual Scientific Meeting (ASC) held in Cairns, QLD from 6 to 9 June. Avant’s Head of Practice – QLD, Selina Hunt will speak at the ASC to intensive care specialists at a breakfast workshop on Saturday 8 June on medico-legal issues.
We look forward to developing our relationship with the Intensive Care Foundation in the coming years.
